DC Declares July 23 Batman Day

In celebration of Batman’s 75th anniversary, DC Entertainment is partnering with thousands of comic book retailers and bookstores across the nation to celebrate “Batman Day” on Wednesday, July 23, and in libraries on Saturday, July 26. 

Comics retailers will receive free promotional items from DC so each store can host a Batman 75th anniversary celebration! 

“Fans across the United States and Canada have made it very clear that Batman is their favorite Super Hero, and we’re excited to offer our retail partners a chance to celebrate the occasion and tap into fan’s enthusiasm,” stated John Cunningham, Vice President of Marketing, DC Entertainment.

The following items are provided to comics retailers free with comics scheduled to go on sale on July 23. Please Note: There is no freight credit for the free items.  

•  Detective Comics #27 Special Edition, featuring a reimagining of the 1939 Bob Kane/Bill Finger original comic book, designed by Chip Kidd with a script by The New York Times #1 bestselling author Brad Meltzer.  Retailers will receive copies of this title for free based on previous orders. This item will be offered on FOC on May 5 under item code MAR148212; quantities are limited, and orders may be allocated. 

• 12” x 16” x 4” Store Bags featuring Batman 75th Anniversary artwork on one side and the Batman 75 logo on the reverse side. Retailers will receive a quantity of these bags for free based on previous orders. This item will be offered on FOC on May 5 under item code MAR148211. Please Note: You will be allowed only to decrease orders on the free bags at FOC. 

Additional store bags can be purchased in bundles of 1,000 for $160.00 US Net under item code MAR148298. Supplies are limited, and orders may be allocated.
