Well, it was awesome, that's all!

We had three times the traffic of 2004, and we figure about half of the people we saw had never been in our store before.  We had kids and moms, and our staff was running all day long.  We signed up four new members (to our pull and hold service), and figure we'll net about 10 directly as a result of the day.

We did twice the business of a normal Wednesday, but we paired our day with a deep-discount back issue and action figure sale, so at normal prices the total would have been higher, but we're very happy with the sales that day, no matter what. 

We had kids show up in costumes - one was the coolest.  I've attached his pic here.  I told him his costume was fantastic, and he said thank you.  I asked his name, and he gave me the funniest look.  There was a brief pause, then he finally took pity on me.  "Flash," he said solemnly.  Dopey me.
