From the outset, we have seized the opportunity that this event offers to promote our store loudly and proudly!

While planning for the big day, we scheduled our usual outdoor tents and comic sale, our staff prepared their costumes and we recruited as many other costumed folks as we could lay hands on.

Happy with our preparations, the event then started to escalate as if by magic. Our local branch of the Ottawa Public Libarary responded favourably to a partnership offer we pitched to them back in February and our local Odeon Cineplex was gearing up for "Spider-Man Family Day", the same day as Free Comic Day.

Not ones to say no for chance to promote ourselves anyhow, anywhere, we expanded our plans to function at all three venues. We recruited more helpers, more costumes and local writer/authors Janet Heatherington and Ronn Sutton who particpated in the Library exhibition.

With movie schedules in hand, we shuttled our Spider-Man, Batman, Joker, various Star Wars characters and more between the store, the theatre and the libarary as time allotted.

The day was a HUGE success for us. We handed out tons of comics at all venues and made a lot of new contacts.

The libarary was ecstatic and want us back for certain next year.
