FCBD: For those who might be new to your comic book, give a quick rundown. What can we expect to see in terms of story and art?
JASON: "Zombie Tramp is definitely horror, but it's also very akin to grindhouse and genre cinema, and of course it deals with zombies. The title character is much more than your usual zombie though, she's more in line with a character like Peter Parker, a normal person (in this case a high priced Hollywood call girl) that's bitten by a zombie and gets strange new powers and abilities. The book is really about her exploring those powers, and with this relaunch, her new-found ability to switch back into human form."

FCBD: What has been your favorite part of book or character to tackle?

DAN: "When I first started out, I was just making a book for me… so I put in all the things that I felt weren't seen in comics, and things I would enjoy seeing. It turned out, other people felt the same way."Article Image

TM: "I find Zombie Tramp interesting because she’s a mixed bag of sweet, sexy, deadly and unnerving.  Illustrating the symbiotic Jekyll/Hyde relationship she has with herself is a blast."

FCBD: Tell FCBD fans why they should pick your book first on Free Comic Book Day!
JASON: "Our book, guaranteed, is different from most anything else you can get on Free Comic Book Day!"

FCBD: What other titles would you associated with your FCBD book? “If a comic reader likes _______ , they should pick up my title"?
JASON: "Hack/Slash, Witchblade, Rachel Rising."

FCBD: What’s your favorite part about working in comics?
DAN
: "My favorite part is always the end result. To get a book done and see it in stores, or have a fan come up to you at a con and say how much they enjoy the book."

TM: "As an artist I enjoy giving a character depth through acting and helping the writer set the tone or undertone through these gestures, making said character come to life."

FCBD: Many newcomers will pick up comics for the first time on FCBD—what was the first comic you remember reading?
DAN: "The first book I remember reading was DYNAMO JOE from First Comics. It was a robot book like Voltron, or Tranzor-Z, but drawn in an American style. I grew up on all those Japanese anime cartoons and it had good covers that caught my eye. I don't remember what the book was about, but I bought at least 5 of them!"

FCBD: Where will you be for this year’s FCBD? Do you have any annual FCBD traditions?
DAN: "This year I’ll be attending FCBD in Rancho Cucamonga California at a great comic book store called 4COLOR FANTASIES. This will be my 3rd year there. It’s usually an outside event that looks almost like a carnival, complete with hot dogs, hamburgers, contests and fun."

TM: "I don't know exactly where I'll be for FCBD yet, as this is my first book! But as far as FCBD traditions go, discovering new talent and interesting titles are some of the best highlights of being a comic fan, so FCBD is great for that."

FCBD: Looking to the future of the book, is there anything you can tease about what's upcoming?
JASON: "Zombie Tramp will be facing off against a number of dark supernatural foes, including a very famous undead legend, synonymous with Las Vegas... and that's all we can say about that, thankyouverymuch!"

FCBD: Tell us why everyone should read comic books?
JASON: "Comics are cool!"
