FCBD: For those who might be new to your comic book, give a quick rundown. What can we expect to see in terms of story and art?
SHANE: It's PEANUTS so you'll get funny and charming stories with top notch Schulz-style art!
FCBD: What has been your favorite part of book or character to tackle?
SHANE: My favorite character to write is Charlie Brown because he's so pathetically lovable.
FCBD: Tell FCBD fans why they should pick your book first on Free Comic Book Day!
SHANE: PEANUTS #1 has, like, four different stories in it! More bang for your non-existent buck!
FCBD: What other titles would you associated with your FCBD book? “If a comic reader likes _______ , they should pick up my title"?
SHANE: Hmm, PEANUTS is pretty classic. There's not many other books like it out there. But if you like the newspaper comic strips, you'll probably dig the comic book form!
FCBD: What’s your favorite part about working in comics?
SHANE: I frequently work with my brother who is an artist. Working with him is always a treat.
FCBD: Many newcomers will pick up comics for the first time on FCBD—what was the first comic you remember reading?
SHANE: The first comic I read was SONIC THE HEDGEHOG #6 which was a Sonic Spinball video game tie-in. It made no sense story-wise, but never the less, I was hooked.
FCBD: Where will you be for this year’s FCBD? Do you have any annualFCBD traditions?
SHANE: This year I'll be signing at Metropolis Comics in Bellflower, CA with my brother! My annual tradition: Try to skip out for 20 minutes from signing to eat lunch. I never get to do it though.
FCBD: Looking to the future of the book, is there anything you can tease about what's upcoming?
SHANE: Charlie Brown kicks the football! ... Not really.
FCBD: Tell us why everyone should read comic books?
SHANE: Because they're a blast!
